What is health equity?

  • Health equity is where everyone in the community has a fair and equal opportunity to attain their highest health condition. 

  • Health equity is not universally implemented yet, and in Korea it is also considered a problem as health equity is not implemented.

How do you advocate for it?

  • Engage in community centered advocacy

    • Use tools to address problems within communities

    • There is an project called “EveryONE project” to promote health equity

  • Leverage strategic partnerships

    • Collaborate with people who are also interested to bring change

    • Some ideas are local health agencies, non profit organization, and community organizations

Conclusion:

  • Through participating and collaborating with communities, policy changes will happen regarding health equity.
